A teenage football player died while on a high school graduation trip in Florida.
Shannon Thomas Tanner, 19, was removed from life support and pronounced dead on Wednesday, May 20, according to Panama City News Herald, NBC affiliate WJHG and ABC affiliate WMBB.
In an incident report obtained by the News Herald, the Bay County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a property at 20109 Front Beach Road around 9:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, May 17, after receiving calls about a life-threatening medical emergency.
Arriving at the scene, someone at the property told an investigator that the teen had "alcohol poisoning" and was "drinking too much."
"I asked the people standing around if they knew what was going on, and they similarly stated 'drinking a lot,' " the deputy wrote in the report, according to the News Herald.

An investigation into his death, which officials believe was caused by alcohol poisoning, is ongoing, the News Herald and WMBB reported.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on Friday, May 22.
According to a GoFundMe, which has raised over $16,000 as of Friday, May 22, Tanner was "on his senior trip...just days after graduating high school" in Alabama when the incident occurred.
The teen had a passion for football and track and "planned to join the Air Force and eventually become an Air Traffic Control Specialist."
"He was a light to everyone, never meeting a stranger and always willing to help others. Shannon loved chocolate milk, peanut butter waffles from Waffle House, and football," the organizer wrote. "His favorite thing was sharing the Gospel."
