On Thursday, the rapper also released a new teaser trailer for the album on Instagram
Eminem is sharing new information about his upcoming album 12 hours before its release.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, the rapper, 51, declared, "Public service announcement: the 'death of slim shady' is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense. Enjoy."
On Thursday, Eminem also released a new trailer for the album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), on Instagram in which the musician appears to be in a dark, rundown basement tied to a metal folding chair with his hands behind his back and his mouth gagged.
His back is to the camera, and he is watching a television. Although the TV picture is static, an announcer's voice eventually can be heard saying in part, "....Detroit rapper Eminem in a stunning move has released an album in which he is actually going to cancel himself."
Soon afterward, a robotic voice can be heard repeating, "Thank the Lord, Coup de Grâce" as Eminem tries to escape the ties constricting him.
"'He’s locked in my basement…' COUP DE GRÂCE 🤐❌ #TheDeathofSlimShady 7/12," the video's caption read.
