The actor talked about his older sister Pauline's living situation in a playful interview on the 'This Past Weekend' podcast. A recent 'Nylon' feature with Pauline claims that she lives in Paris
Timothée Chalamet shared an interesting — if questionable — update on his older sister and baby niece.
On the Dec. 16 episode of Theo Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend, the host asked Timothée about becoming an uncle for the first time and requested a photo of his new baby niece.
The A Complete Unknown star demurred, explaining the he didn't have a picture because his sister, The Sex Lives of College Girls actress Pauline Chalamet, has chosen to “keep her offline” after giving birth in September.
He then went on to share more details of his sister's alleged living situation. “You know, my sister lives with a group of people in a forest-type thing in France,” continued Timothée, even adding that there was “no internet."
Von asked if it was located near Nancy, a city in northeastern France, and Timothée agreed, "Near Nancy," before breaking. “No, I’m just f—ing with you,” the 28-year-old actor said with a laugh. “I’m sorry bro.”
Chalamet didn't fictionalize his big sister's entire situation, however. She does live in France, according to a recent feature in Nylon, but the story doesn't divulge with whom or in what sort of arrangement. And she has lived in an artist colony in the past.

The feature, published on Dec. 9, claims Pauline "currently resides" in Paris, where she also went to college. However, she grew up in an artist colony in New York City.
“It was a very special place to grow up, in retrospect,” she shared while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022. “While I was growing up there, I think I was a little overwhelmed by the fact there were many different types of performing artists that lived there, and you would be hearing singing and dancing.”
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Pauline said a love of art “was in my family, and it was also really in the building in which I grew up,” adding, “It was always there.”
Her brother's playful soundbite comes several months after Pauline accidentally revealed that she had given birth to her first child, caught on video exclaiming, “I just had a baby!” to director Greta Gerwig during Paris Fashion Week in September.
“None of my friends had any empathy for me. They were like, ‘You were at a social event,’” Pauline told Nylon. “I was like, ‘You want to film that and sell it to someone? I hope you got good money for that, at least.’”
Timothée’s appearance on This Past Weekend is part of a whirlwind of press for his new film, a Bob Dylan biopic, out on Dec. 25.
It has already received encouraging reviews from critics, who have praised the Dune star’s commanding performance.
Timothée also garnered a slew of headlines as he debuted a Dylan-esque hair color change at the film’s premiere on Dec. 13, sporting blonde bangs and a blue beanie reminiscent of the iconic musician's styling during the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. (Though he told late-night host Stephen Colbert that he had grown out his new thin mustache for an upcoming role in Marty Supreme, Timothée noted that it also worked to riff on Dylan’s look.)
Pauline has been busy as well: On top of motherhood, she’s returned as the undergraduate Kimberly in the hit Max show The Sex Lives of College Girls, the third season of which began airing in November.
“The season was really fun," Pauline said of the season. "Seeing our individual storylines become a little bit more specific, and also being able to interact with new characters.”
