Mushtaq Ahmed was allegedly killed after an argument with a man identified only as Ashfaq

A man in northern Pakistan is facing a murder charge in connection with the killing of the administrator of a WhatsApp group chat.
Mushtaq Ahmed was fatally shot in the evening of Thursday, March 6, in Peshawar, about 116 miles from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, per AFP.
A man identified only as Ashfaq in police documents was charged with murder in connection to the killing, the outlet reported, citing the documents and local police.
Ahmed’s brother told authorities that the victim and Ashfaq were in a WhatsApp chat group and got into an argument, according to the brother's statement which was cited by AFP. Following that, Ahmed kicked Mushtaq out of the chat.
Ashfaq was reportedly angry "in reaction to removal from WhatsApp group," Ahmed’s brother said in the statement.

The suspect and victim had decided to reconcile and arranged for a meeting. However, Ashfaq showed up to the meeting with a gun and fatally shot Ahmed, per the statement.
An investigation is ongoing, local outlet The Express Tribune reported.
