While their opposing lifestyles and clashing places in society lead them to judge one another at first, they evolve throughout the story, overcoming their preconceived notions and (spoiler alert!) falling in love.
According to Jane Austen's House, over 20 million copies of the original novel have been sold since it was released over 200 years ago.
