Lucky Blue and Nara Smith have been keeping their marriage strong for six years, and they say it comes down to one simple principle.
The couple opened up about their relationship while attending the Clarins Night of Extra at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on March 20, sharing how they continue to stay connected through life’s many changes. Despite busy careers and raising a growing family, they’ve found a rhythm that works for them.
“Communicate,” Nara, 24, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I feel like we've gotten really good at communicating with each other.”

Lucky quickly agreed, adding that meeting in the middle has been just as essential to their longevity.
“I think it's easy to really stick to your side on things, but I think compromising is really important,” the 27-year-old model tells PEOPLE.
Their relationship dates back to 2019, when Lucky first reached out to Nara on Instagram after coming across her profile earlier.
“I messaged her on Instagram about a year ago,” he said in a since-deleted September 2020 YouTube video. “I don’t know why I didn’t message her before I did, but it took me like a year to message her … but I messaged her, we started texting, I got her number.”

At first, their communication style looked a little different. Nara recalled that his replies weren’t always immediate, which led them to find a better way to connect.
Once they transitioned to talking on the phone, everything changed — including a memorable first call that lasted seven hours and set the tone for their relationship. When they met in person during Milan Fashion Week, the connection felt undeniable.
“In the first few minutes, I just knew I was talking to my wife, as weird or crazy as that sounds," Lucky revealed in the old video.
Their bond only deepened during an early trip to Australia, where they began having more serious conversations about their future. “We kind of talked about more serious topics, like finances, religion — stuff that you need to talk about if you feel like this is getting serious,” he said at the time.

By February 2020, the pair was married, and their life together soon expanded into parenthood. Just months after their wedding, they welcomed their first child, Rumble Honey, followed by Slim Easy in 2022, Whimsy Lou in 2024 and their youngest, Fawnie Golden, in September 2025.
Now raising four children together, the couple continues to rely on the same foundation they built early on — strong communication and a willingness to grow together.
