Donny Osmond is celebrating "48 wonderful years" of marriage with Debbie Osmond.

The couple tied the knot at the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City in 1978. In honor of their 48th wedding anniversary on Friday, May 8, Donny, 68, posted a heartfelt tribute to Debbie, 67, on Instagram.

"When you get right down to it, life goes by fast. It's hard to believe it's been 48 years since I made eternal vows to my sweetheart in the Salt Lake City Temple," the singer wrote alongside a photo of the couple embracing outside with the sun setting behind them.

"Together, we've built a life full of love, memories, and family—and I'd choose you all over again. I love you, sweetheart. ❤️," he continued.

Donny added a wedding ring graphic directly over the sun, writing over the scenic snap, "Celebrating 48 wonderful years with my best friend."

He also shared the post to his Instagram Stories with his cover of The Spinners' "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love" playing in the background.

Donny and Debbie met when they were teenagers, with Donny revealing in a 2016 Facebook update that Debbie was 15 years old and dating his brother, Jay, at the time. After Debbie and Jay split, she and Donny dated for three years before saying "I do."

After getting married, the pair welcomed five children together: sons Don Jr., Jeremy, Brandon, Chris and Josh. Over the years, their children have started families of their own, giving the couple "16 grandchildren and counting."

Jeremy's wife, Melisa Osmond, congratulated Donny and Debbie on nearly five decades of marriage, writing, "Love you both so much!!! Happy Anniversary!! Best couple!! We love you Mamo & Bapa 🫶."

Donny keeps his relationship with Debbie mostly private. "We decided a long time ago that we prefer to keep our personal relationship and home out of the spotlight," he explained in a Valentine's Day 2020 Instagram post.

Donny raved about his wife's enduring support to PEOPLE in 2022, sharing, "Debbie has given my life stability. She keeps my feet on the ground."
