Zoë Kravitz is back at the Met Gala!

The 37-year-old actress arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 4, and while news of her engagement to Harry Styles was a hot topic last week, she remained coy about the reveal at fashion's biggest night.

Kravitz appeared to intentionally hide her stunning new rock from sight while she rocked a romantic black lace Saint Laurent dress. Photos taken of the director and actress show her making use of the look's sculptural waist to hide her left hand. She wasn't accompanied by her musician fiancé — who last attended the Met Gala in 2019 — but rather Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello. She also wore Jessica McCormack jewelry, per Vogue, and Saint Laurent black pumps.

Details about Kravitz's ring have yet to be revealed. However, jewelry experts and designers shared their predictions with PEOPLE not long after the couple's engagement.

Laura Taylor, who specializes in engagement and wedding rings at Lorel Diamonds, thinks that Kravitz's stone — which she guesses is an elongated cushion-cut diamond set in yellow gold with a smooth bezel-style setting — is on the smaller size at about five or six carats, but its sparkle says it all.

"It appears to be very similar in size to the ring she previously wore from Channing Tatum [the now-exes were briefly engaged before splitting in October 2024], but with a slightly softer and less elongated shape, telling us that Zoë knows exactly what diamond proportions she loves on her hand," Taylor shared in a press release.

PEOPLE confirmed on April 27 that Kravitz and Styles, 32, were engaged, eight months after they were first spotted together publicly. At the time, a source close to the couple said the actress and singer had shared the happy news with "a small circle" and that Kravitz had been showing off her ring to friends.

Speculation of Kravitz and Styles' engagement first sparked the week prior on Tuesday, April 21, when the pair was seen walking around London together. In photos, Kravitz was spotted with a massive sparkler on her left ring finger. She was also seen sporting the ring two days earlier on April 19.

The 2026 Met Gala — co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour — follows the dress code "Fashion Is Art," which pays tribute to the Met's spring 2026 exhibition titled "Costume Art." The exhibition, among the first permanent galleries in the Met to center fashion, addresses “the centrality of the dressed body in the museum's vast collection" by positioning historic garments alongside paintings, sculptures and other pieces of fine art.

Kravitz has attended the exclusive event several times before, beginning with her debut in 2008. She previously attended the gala alongside her famous parents, Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, in 2015.

Known for her sleek looks, Kravitz walked the carpet in 2019 in an all-black Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello column gown with a heart-shaped cutout around her chest, accessorizing the look with a range of jewelry by Anabela Chan, Harry Kotlar, Yvan Tufenkjian, Amwaj, Marli New York and Le Vian.

The actress kept with the same designer for the following gala in 2021, wearing a nearly naked slip dress made of crystals and a matching silver thong underneath. The bold look garnered some criticism online, with some claiming her dress showed too much skin, though Kravitz later responded with a body-positive message.

"Being uncomfortable with the human body is colonization / brainwashing," she said. "It's just a body. We all got em."
