A Utah court was shown video from when Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk, turned himself in to authorities.

Robinson returned to court in Utah for the third day of his preliminary hearing, on Wednesday, July 8. The proceedings were streamed live by the Associated Press.

Robinson is charged with murder in the death of the conservative activist, who was fatally shot while speaking at a rally on the campus of Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.

Following the shooting, authorities engaged in a manhunt, which ended the night of Sept. 11 when Robinson turned himself in.

Utah State Bureau of Investigation Agent Brian Davis narrated video of Robinson’s arrest during testimony Wednesday.

Per Davis, Robinson, who was reportedly wearing a T-shirt and hat on the night he turned himself in, was arrested after authorities questioned both him and his parents.

Police also interviewed a family friend.

Prosecutors also want a video of an interview law enforcement conducted with Robinson’s roommate admitted into evidence, which defense attorneys claimed was not admissible.

The Kirk family reportedly left the courtroom while former Utah Valley University police officer Chris Bagley testified about Kirk’s death. Per the The New York Times, Erika returned to the courtroom following a break.

Before Monday’s hearing, the Kirk family released a statement on social media.

“Every court proceeding serves as a painful reminder of his death and the loss that has irrevocably impacted our lives and the lives of his children,” the Kirk family said in the statement. “We remain deeply grateful for the support, prayers, and kindness we have received. This outpouring has sustained us during the darkest days of our lives.”
