Jamie Foxx was a little skeptical about becoming a dad again.

The 58-year-old actor, who is currently expecting his third baby — his first with 31-year-old girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp — recently explained to E! News in a joint interview with his older daughter Corinne Foxx, 32, to promote Beat Shazam, that he wasn’t quite sure he could be an older dad. But then he spoke with a certain celebrity who helped change his mind.

“Being my age, I was a little on the fence,” Foxx shared. “But then I ran into Al Pacino a few months ago.”

Foxx said that speaking with Pacino, 86, who welcomed his baby son Roman two years ago, helped him get over his fears.

“I said, ‘Al, you gonna be back in the drop off line?’ ” Foxx joked. “I said, ‘Aw man, shoot I’m good.’ ”

In May, PEOPLE confirmed that Foxx is expecting his third baby, his first with Huckstepp. TMZ was first to report the news.

The Soul star is already the dad of daughters Anelise, 17, and Corinne, whom he welcomed in previous relationships. Foxx shares daughter Corinne with ex Connie Kline and daughter Anelise with ex Kristin Grannis.

Then in July, Foxx was photographed leaving the restaurant Crustacean in Beverly Hills, Calif., wearing a straw hat and a black T-shirt. Huckstepp stood behind him wearing a long black tank-top dress that highlighted her baby bump.

Foxx and Huckstepp could be seen waiting for their car at the valet. Huckstepp carried a small clutch in one hand and a much larger bag in the other.

PEOPLE first confirmed Foxx and Huckstepp were a couple in August 2023 after they were spotted out dining with a group in Malibu, Calif.

According to multiple sources, they split a year and a half later in January 2025 amid a busy time for Foxx. That month, he released a movie with his pal Cameron Diaz, Back in Action, just weeks after his highly anticipated Netflix special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was … began streaming.

But a few months later, Foxx and Huckstepp were hanging out again. In April 2025, they were photographed leaving Nobu in Malibu (the same restaurant where they had a group date in the summer of 2023).

That October, Foxx and Huckstepp were seen spending time together at Kiki on The River in Miami. The pair, who were with a larger group, enjoyed a tour of the Miami River before dining at the Greek restaurant.
