The "Close to You" singer made her 'Saturday Night Live' debut on Dec. 14
Gracie Abrams has a new addition to her fandom!
On Monday, Dec. 16, Barbra Streisand shared a photo from Gracie's Saturday Night Live performance on social media — and revealed she was shocked to learn who her father was.
"I just saw a wonderful new singer named GRACIE ABRAMS (@gracieabrams) on Saturday night live this weekend," Streisand, 82, captioned her Instagram post. "And it turns out she’s the daughter of my friend JJ Abrams!"
Gracie — whose mother is Katie McGrath — made her SNL debut on Dec. 14 as a musical guest. During the episode, she performed two The Secret of Us (Deluxe) tracks — “That’s So True” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry” while Chris Rock hosted.

J.J., 58, is a filmmaker and composer who co-created the shows Lost and Alias. He also directed several Star Wars films, starting with The Force Awakens. Meanwhile, her mom, Katie, is a former political aide who began her career in Washington, D.C. and held positions at notable firms. Today, her parents serve as the co-CEOs of Bad Robot Productions, where they produce various TV shows and films.
In 2022, the "Blowing Smoke" singer, 25, told iHeartRadio Canada that it was "a privilege in having even grown up around the knowledge of what the entertainment world looks like at all."
“I think that having that in my childhood solidified my love and appreciation for storytelling… and influenced the fact that I did it all the time,” she continued.

However, when it came to songwriting, she kept that separate from her parents.
“I definitely kept them so far out of it. Songwriting, for me, was always just a personal outlet to deal with my experiences without having to talk to anyone, especially my parents for many years,” Gracie said.
“Now, I’m very lucky... I’m super tight with them and I tell my mom everything,” she added.
In addition to her SNL performance, Gracie recently rejoined Taylor Swift for the second North American leg of her Eras Tour.
Days later, the "Close to You" singer announced dates for The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour, which will kick off in July in Boston. The tour will wrap on Aug. 26 in Mexico City.

As for Streisand, Sony Music Vision announced in September that filmmaker Frank Marshall, known for directing and producing dozens of hit films and being a frequent collaborator with Steven Spielberg, will direct this new documentary series about the multi-hyphenate.
"The project will offer an intimate and comprehensive exploration of every facet of the iconic multi-hyphenate, who, in a career spanning six decades, has excelled in every area of entertainment," a press release from Sony Music Vision stated. A release date has not been set.
