A New York City food favorite is reaching new heights — literally.
Magnolia Bakery, the dessert institution known for its coveted frosted cupcakes and appearance on the original Sex and the City series, is now offering their famous banana pudding on United Airlines flights nationwide.
Called Banana Pudding Wafer Cookie Bits, the on-board version differs from the bakery's original pudding, which is made with fresh bananas, vanilla wafers and fluffy vanilla pudding, The 3 oz. pudding cup, described as "a wafer cookie wonderland" on the site, is a frozen-to-thaw recipe that includes whipped bananas and chunks of wafer cookies.
For now, the pudding will be served as part of the in-flight meal — but only to passengers traveling in first-class on flights spanning more than 901 miles, per a press release. The dessert cups are also available in select grocery stores and retailers around the country for those who want a taste while on the ground.

Delta's Magnolia partnership joins other major carriers, that are adding more familiar comfort food brands to their on-board menus. In November, Delta Airlines and Shake Shack announced they will begin serving the chain's cheeseburgers on flights out of Boston, but with plans to expand to "other U.S. markets throughout 2025." Like United's Magnolia offering, the all-American classic will be limited to passengers seated in first class and "on routes over 900 miles."

The group also created a menu of craft cocktails, which are shaken right on board before serving.
