A 17-year-old accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death in Pennsylvania had Instagram videos showing her threatening him with a knife, police said.
According to a news release from the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, Dalaysia Terrell-Brown, 17, was arrested and charged with Murder and Possession of an Instrument of a Crime. She was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, per a docket sheet reviewed by PEOPLE.
The charges are related to the homicide investigation of 18-year-old Tamar Shaw, Terrell-Brown's boyfriend, that was initiated on Monday, April 6th, in the 1400 block of Market Street.
While the case remains under investigation, the Dauphin County Coroner's Office ruled Shaw's death a homicide, an affidavit of probable cause reviewed by PEOPLE states.
"The stab wound entered the chest cavity, and this would require significant force," the coroner said, per the affidavit.
A tip to police led to previous posts allegedly made by Terrell-Brown on Instagram, pointing and throwing a knife at her boyfriend, the affidavit states.
One of the videos allegedly showed a hand holding a knife consistent with one recovered from the scene, attempting to stab Shaw. The video was allegedly captioned, "lmaoo cut that wrist up."
Another video allegedly showed Terrell-Brown pointing a knife at Shaw while verbally addressing other females.
According to the affidavit, in the video, Brown made threatening remarks and said words to the effect of "Shaw ain't gonna do s--t" and "let this be a warning."
A third video, according to the affidavit, showed Terrell-Brown throwing a serrated knife — which also appeared to be consistent with one recovered from the scene —onto Shaw's neck.
The affidavit of probable cause states that on April 6, officers were dispatched to an apartment regarding “a male losing blood with a cut shoulder.”
Police reported seeing a puncture, a "laceration or puncture wound" to the left side of Shaw's chest upon arriving at the scene.
Unable to explain what happened to him as he could not breathe, Shaw fell to the floor. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Penn Live.
The affidavit states that Terrell-Brown claimed the two were in bed when he asked her for a knife to cut paper to roll a blunt.
She claimed not to have witnessed the moment Shaw was hurt and reportedly said that while they had been arguing earlier in the day, they weren't when the incident occurred.
"She said she went to move the blankets around on top of Shaw, and he yelled out in pain. He was not sure what it was, so they took his shirt off, and blood began spurting out of the wound," the affidavit states.
Terell-Brown is being held at the Dauphin County Prison and was denied bail, according to the docket sheet. She is awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 20.
